Certificate 2-year Expiration

Brittany Iafrate Updated by Brittany Iafrate

When you purchase a certificate program at eCornell, you have 2 years from your purchase date to schedule all required courses.

Please note: Students who enrolled through their employer group may have a different policy. If you are part of an employer-sponsored program, please check your program details or contact Student Support for clarification.
What does this mean for you?

Your 2-year window starts the day you purchase your certificate program. You must schedule all certificate courses within those 2 years to earn your certificate. Scheduling means registering your required courses to start within your two-year window. We recommend planning your courses in advance, especially if you think you might need extra time or flexibility.

If you need to reschedule a course during your program, you can do so through the steps listed here. However, all courses must still be scheduled within your 2-year timeframe.

If you are unable to finish in time, please reach out to Student Support for next steps. Depending on your specific situation, options may include purchasing another instance of the course or scheduling a retake session.
