Accessing Your Live Session

Brittany Iafrate Updated by Brittany Iafrate

Live sessions are interactive, real-time Zoom meetings where you can connect with your facilitator and classmates, ask questions, and participate in discussions.

Here’s how to access a live session in your eCornell course:

  1. 1. Log In to Canvas
    1. Go to learn.ecornell.cornell.edu and log in with your eCornell credentials.
  2. Find the Live Session Link:
    1. Announcements: Most facilitators post the live session link as an Announcement in your Canvas course. Look for a announcement titled “Live Session,” “Upcoming Live Event,” or similar.
Some facilitators may request that you send in any questions for the live session the day before. If you see this request in your course announcement or email, be sure to email your questions by the stated deadline to help make the session as helpful as possible!
    2. Course Modules: Some courses include a module labeled “Live Session.” Click into that section to find the date, time, and Zoom link.
    3. Calendar: Check your Canvas course calendar for any upcoming events. Clicking on the calendar entry will often display the link and details for the session.
    4. Email: Facilitators sometimes send the live session link to your Canvas Inbox, especially if the event is approaching soon.
  3. Join at the Scheduled Time
    1. On the day and time of the live session, return to the course and click the session link.
    2. Make sure you are logged in a few minutes early to test your audio/video.
  4. What If I Can’t Find the Link?
    1. Check your course Announcements, Calendar, or Modules.
    2. Review your email for notifications from eCornell or your facilitator.
    3. Still can’t find it? Reach out to your course facilitator via Canvas Inbox or contact Student Support.
